black and white + something else

I’m a *very* visual person, and am often inspired by photographs, particularly black and white.  I love this photo of the 1972 feminist art installation, Womanhouse.

The minimalist style of this photo reminds me of the elegant, sparse style of one of my favorite stores dinosaurdesigns.com.  A company started by three art graduates from Australia, Dinosaur Designs consistently creates beautiful resin jewelry as if it was made by nature…

I love how when layering a simple bangle can make quite a statement…

But one of my absolute favorite looks is when you combine the classic black and white palette with a third color, like Celine’s Phoebe Philo does here:

Derek Lam, whose tailored pieces are the perfect canvas to use this classic color scheme, uses a berry color as well.
