strike a (juxta)pose

I love prints!  Despite my current affair with neutrals (I’ll have to expound on my love for navy and black another time), mixing not matching will always have a special place in my heart.  Being Filipino, I’m often compelled to express myself with color and patterns.

With punches of color and lively patterns everywhere you look, these malongs (tubular pieces of fabric usually worn as skirts) feel so of the moment.

With Proenza Schouler’s Spring 2012 line, it’s fun to (excuse the pun) connect the dots to how this upcoming trend relates to my life.  This is the part of fashion that excites me–how an upcoming trend can be a fabulous way for clothing and my culture to overlap in a way that’s quite personal.
